CHRISTMAS MALL DECORATION CONCEPT:  for Dayton Mall in Dayton, Ohio. I called it "Ice Mountain National Park".   The foxes were the park rangers, and the penguins were the mischievous lovable  residents.  The Park included "Mount Slushmore" (far end, left), "Cold Faithful",  "The cave of the winds",  a "snow fountain", and a "hot springs" for the penguins to relax in.  The ranger's station was for Santa.
This was a Christmas vignette for the Kettering College lobby - their annual Christmas program.  I created this structure out of Styrofoam.  The village on the bridge is for the tiny little elves.  I installed a mechanical, bell-ringing Santa band in the center.  They rang out different Christmas songs on their bells.

I placed blue transparent plastic in the florescent lighting to give the place a moon-lit feel.

This was the adjacent Santa's Sleigh Vignette.  I just used whatever I could borrow.

CHRISTMAS WINDOW DISPLAY:  This was called "Christmas Letters to God".  I asked an elementary teacher to have her children write Christmas letters to God (instead of Santa).   This was a VERY popular window display!!  Passersby would always stop to read the letters that were being transported up to Heaven (along with the mail boxes). The contents of those letters to God mixed with the beautiful serenity was a beautiful experience that brought both smiles and tears.  Unfortunately, the photographer used a flash, which wiped out the serene night time lighting F/X.   I heated up sheets of styrene in my oven so I could mold them into shapes that blowing paper would take on, then I glued the letters to the styrene and positioned them in mid-air with very fine fishing line - practically invisible.
I called this Christmas window display "The Greatest Story Ever Told".  The story of Jesus Birth comes to life out of the Bible, eclipsing all other stories.  The Bethlehem scene is made from story books, the Bible containing the greatest story ever told.
The nativity scene rises from the pages of  The Bible.  The subtitle to The Greatest Story Ever Told, was "In thy seed shall all nations be blest".  It was a double entendre that was appropriate to this Heirloom seed company.
This was a Summer window display called "Breakfast at Nana's".  I and a coworker did this together.
